A chamber adaptation of Giacomo Puccini’s opera Tosca comes to Sigyn Hall in June!

Portrait of Tosca for three singers and a string quartet condenses the events of Puccini’s opera into an hour and a half. The theatrical chamber version looks at the intimate nuances of the work and brings them to your skin. The title role is played by soprano Marjukka Tepponen, acclaimed worldwide for her Puccini roles. American baritone Kevin Greenlaw sings as Scarpiana, the police chief, and Danish-born Peter Lodahl as Cavaradossi, the painter. Laura Hynninen as the fallen angel paints into colours and shapes what the libretto does not say out loud as part of the performance.

Iconic operas need to be examined in this age. Tosca is a timeless, bloody woman, ready to act and do anything for her dreams. She is neither weak nor a victim. Tosca is an opera about saving dreams.

Sung in Italian with Finnish subtitles.
