Peter Lodahl, a tenor singer from Denmark, was nominated for “Singer of the year” and “Best art song recording” categories for his recording of “Dichterliebe” by Christian Jost (Deutsche Grammophon) at the OPUS Klassik Awards in 2020. He has a comprehensive career in concerts, lied, and opera. His repertoire ranges from baroque masterpieces, classical and romantic repertoire to 20th and 21st-century compositions.

For several years, Peter Lodahl has been a permanent soloist at the Royal Opera and previously at the opera houses in Kiel and Komische Oper in Berlin.

Peter Lodahl’s performances include a wide range of highlights, such as the title role in the European premiere of John Harbinson’s opera “The Great Gatsby” at Semperoper Dresden, while singing alongside leading divas of the time such as Anna Netrebko, Lise Davidsen, Barbara Hannigan, Patricia Petibon, Anne Sofie von Otter, and Danielle de Niese.

Peter Lodahl regularly performs with orchestras such as Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Det Kongelige Kapel, MDR Sinfonieorchester, Brucknerorchester Linz, DR SymfoniOrkestret, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, and Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra in collaboration with conductors like Kent Nagano, Franz Welser-Möst, Ivor Bolton, Markus Poschner, Guy Braunstein, Andreas Sperring, Carlo Rizzi, Kiril Petrenko, Wayne Marshall, Neeme Järvi, Christoph Gedschold, Lothar Koenigs, Thomas Dausgaard, Frans Brüggen, Christoph Poppen, and Michael Boder.

In recent years, Peter Lodahl has regularly performed at prestigious venues such as Musikverein Wien (Goldener Saal), Großes Festspielhaus Salzburg, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Staatsoper Hamburg, Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, Konzerthaus Berlin, Oper Frankfurt, Brucknerhaus Linz, Theatre La Monnaie in Brussels, the Royal Theater, Teatro Real Madrid, Semperoper Dresden, Oper Darmstadt, Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, Komische Oper Berlin, Drottningholm Slottsteater in Stockholm, the Norwegian Opera in Oslo, Lincoln Center Festival New York, Grafenegg Festival, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Guangzhou Opera House, and Gewandhaus Leipzig.

Alongside his singing career, Peter Lodahl has also pursued a career in artistic leadership. First as the festival director for the Copenhagen Opera Festival from 2016–2019 and from 2019–2024 as the music director for Copenhagen Phil.

Peter Lodahl has recorded with record labels such as Deutsche Grammophon, EMI Classics, and DECCA, and has received numerous awards and honors, including the Aksel Schiötz Prize and the Gösta Winbergh Award (1st prize). Peter Lodahl was appointed Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog in 2013.
