OP’s Home Concert

Nestled in the oak forests of Ruissalo, Villa Leppäniemi once again opens its doors to concerts at the Turku Music Festival. Built in the 1870s and beautifully restored by OP Varsinais-Suomi, this lace villa offers an intimate and atmospheric setting for music that becomes part of its natural surroundings.

The concert features the TMJ Quartet, with violinists Kreeta-Julia Heikkilä and Philip Zuckerman, violist Hanna Hohti, and cellist Markus Hohti. This ensemble of four outstanding musicians brings together refined chamber music dialogue and a strong artistic presence.

The evening’s programme includes music by composers Lotta Wennäkoski, Bryce Dessner, María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir, Ólafur Arnalds, Hildur Guðnadóttir, and Caroline Shaw. The works’ intimate textures, individual gestures, and subtle transformations create spaces where the listener does not merely follow a narrative but enters into it.

The concert at Villa Leppäniemi is a moment where music and environment share the same space. It is an experience in which space, time, and identity are in constant motion.
