FLEUR BARRON

Hailed as “a knockout performer” by The Times, mezzosoprano FLEUR BARRON recently gave a stunning performance in the title role of Kaija Saariaho’s opera Adriana Mater in San Francisco. Other recent triumphs include Ottavia in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea in Aix-en-Provence and Penelope in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria on the European tour of Baroque ensemble I Gemelli, multiple roles in George Benjamin’s opera Into the Little Hill with Staatskapelle Berlin and St John the Baptist in Grimani’s La decollazione di San Giovanni Battista at the Haymarket Opera in Chicago.

Barron is a Rising Star artist with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam and an Artistic Partner of the Orquesta Sinfonia del Principado de Asturias in Oviedo. She has also appeared in concert with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, to name but a few. In the 2023–2024 season, she embarks on a multi-year collaboration with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and Ludovic Morlot.

Born in Northern Ireland, Barron grew up in a Singaporean-British family in Hong Kong and New York. She is committed to the way music can facilitate cross-cultural dialogue and is passionate about curating inclusive chamber music programming that amplifies the voices of diverse communities. Barron is mentored by singer and conductor Barbara Hannigan, with whom she often performs.
