The Gocce d’Opera Quartet, founded in 2009, includes flute, clarinet, violin and cello. Created to accompany opera concerts and operas with the support of the piano, it developed transcriptions to create a sound similar to a ‘small orchestra’. Later, it performed opera concerts without piano, accompanying arias for soprano, tenor and baritone. Recently, the quartet has expanded into a 10-12-piece ensemble with strings, woodwinds and harp. The members collaborate with leading Italian orchestras and have accompanied famous opera artists, including Anna Netrebko, Andrea Bocelli and Leo Nucci.
