Oronzo D’Urso studied opera singing at the N. Rota Conservatory in Monopoli, graduating cum laude under the guidance of Maestro Massimiliano Chiarolla. Winner of numerous competitions, including the 75th Spoleto Opera Singing Competition in 2021, he has performed important roles in prestigious theatres.
Between 2022 and 2024, he performed in various Puccini roles: Goro and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Pong in Turandot, Spoletta in Tosca and Calaf in La principessa di gelo. He also participated in Verdi’s Falstaff as Bardolfo and played Don José in Historia de Carmen and Tragedie de Carmen. Among other roles, he sang Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth and Nemorino in Donizetti’s Elisir d’amore in Italian and international theatres. He made his debut as tenor soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in 2022 and performed at Expo 2020 in Dubai. He has been regularly involved in productions of the Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino, working with internationally renowned conductors and directors.
