ELSI GOESCH

Australian-Finnish violinist Elsi Goesch graduated with a M.Mus. degree from the Sibelius Academy, having studied with Jaakko Ilves and Silja Raitio-Heikinheimo. Araik Resjan at the Turku Conservatory and Marika Fältskog at the Malmö Academy of Music have also been important teachers along the way. She has studied chamber music with Teemu Kupiainen and Levon Chilingirian, among others.

Being a musician and music educator with multiple interests, she is inspired by creativity in all its manifestations. She appreciates the camaraderie of chamber music, experimental concert approaches and the championing of neglected historical composers. She is the founder of the Kustavi Ensemble, whose purpose is to perform classical music in her native region, the Turku Archipelago; they have performed for instance at the Volter Kilpi Literary Festival. Elsi has received grants from the Finnish Cultural Foundation and from the Sibelius Academy Foundation.
