The partnership of the Turku Music Festival and the SHIFT Business Festival has become an established nexus between the worlds of culture and business. Now in its fourth year, this cooperation is set to once again bring together music and innovative enterprise.
The Turku Music Festival is one of Finland’s oldest and most distinguished festivals of classical music, known for its diverse programming and for attracting artists from Finland and abroad. The SHIFT Business Festival is an innovation and technology event that brings together entrepreneurs, investors and business influencers from around the world. The collaboration of the two is built on the notion that culture and business can work together for mutual enrichment and to create new opportunities. In 2024, the continuing partnership offers SHIFT visitors the opportunity to experience a new way of combining art and business.
What makes this year particularly interesting is that the Turku Music Festival booth will feature talented pianist Iiro Komulainen, who will be improvising music on corporate slogans and values, bringing a musical dimension to business communications. This innovative approach highlights the versatility of music and its ability to inspire and entertain.
“Both the Turku Music Festival and SHIFT have a team with the ability and the desire for creating new things, for continuing improvement and for success. Our collaboration highlights how both events are committed to promoting creativity and innovation. This is important not just for the two parties involved but for the Turku region as a whole, reinforcing the image of the city as a nexus between culture and business. This, in turn, attracts a wide-ranging crowd. The Turku Music Festival makes art and culture appreciation a visible part of the SHIFT Business Festival, while gaining the opportunity to reach out to new audiences. The two parties are showing by their concrete example how creativity and business can enrich each other and foster new, innovative experiences,” says Eveliina Salminen, Sales and Marketing Manager of the Turku Music Festival.
Bringing together culture and business demonstrates just how diverse and dynamic Turku is as a city: a platform for cultural events of the highest calibre and also a major business and innovation hub. This makes Turku an attractive location both nationally and internationally. The SHIFT Business Festival is held at Visitor and Innovation Centre Joki, Lemminkäisenkatu 12 B, Turku, on 29–30 May 2024.
“Cross-sectoral collaboration benefits us all. It brings together the best in business, music and meaningful experiences. The end result is memorable, and the Turku Music Festival delivers on its promises,” says Carita Varjonen, Managing Director of SHIFT.
