Australian-Finnish Ruben Goesch started playing the violin at the age of 5 and at the age of 6 he found himself at the Turku Conservatory in Araik Resjan’s class. In Turku he was also a student of Markku Jokinen and Juha-Pekka Vikman. Today Ruben studies at the Sibelius Academy with Jaakko Ilves. He has attended master classes with Wouter Vossen, Cecilia Zilliacus, Pekka Kauppinen and Antti Tikkanen, and has studied chamber music with Teemu Kupiainen, Marko Ylönen and Ralf Gothoni. As a founding member of the Kustavi Ensemble, he brings classical music to the soulful landscapes of the Turku archipelago. He has performed several times at the Turku Music Festival, and as an orchestral musician Ruben has played many times with the Lohja City Orchestra, the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra and the Jyväskylä Symphony Orchestra.
In his free time, Ruben enjoys good coffee, playing football and attending concerts. His artistic development has been supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation and the Selim Eskelin Foundation.
