Joonas Sildre (b. 1980) is an Estonian cartoonist, illustrator and graphic designer. He graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts as a graphic designer and freelance artist. He has illustrated nearly 30 children’s books and published the comic novel Between Two Sounds, a biography of the composer Arvo Pärt. Sildre teaches cartoon drawing in workshops and art schools, has compiled anthologies and organises cartoon fairs in Estonia. In 2013 he co-founded the Estonian Comics Society.
