IIKKA JÄRVI

Iikka Järvi started playing the double bass at the age of five at the Espoo Music Institute. At Sibelius Academy he studied first in the youth section and later on the soloist side with Juho Martikainen, and soon he got a job with the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra. After a few years of work, Iikka went to study for a year at the Zagreb Music Academy, after which he was offered a place in the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Today he is the deputy conductor of the FRSO’s double bass group. During his studies, Iikka was a soloist with the Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra.
