Florakören is the student choir of Åbo Akademi University, founded in 1944. As one of Finland’s leading institutions of treble choir music, the choir is constantly searching for new ways of musical expression. At the same time, it works actively to preserve its important traditions. Through its bold repertoire choices, the choir has been a pioneer and innovator in the field of treble choir music. A love of music and a strong sense of community are at the heart of the Florakören. The choir organises several concerts each year, often in collaboration with its brother choir Brahe Djäknar, regularly tours abroad and participates in international choir competitions.
