Artsoppa, a chamber music association founded in 2008 in Turku, swims like a fish in a soup in a network of different art forms. Music is always the main ingredient in the soup, but the broth is enlarged cross-artistically and unprejudicedly with random bits and pieces from other art forms.
Artsoppa’s main aim is to lower the threshold for audiences to come to classical music concerts and to introduce audiences from different art forms to each other and to other art forms. In the projects produced by the association, the participation of artists and creators from different disciplines creates a much-needed sense of cultural community in the liberal arts scene, while engaging in dialogue with its audience, who are often given an active role as third parties in the various projects.
Over the years, Artsoppa has combined iconic art, poetry recitation, flamenco dance, food cultures from different countries, light art and astronomy, among others, in its chamber music concerts. In its 15 years of existence, Artsoppa has provided performance opportunities for over 100 professional musicians and artists.
