The historic Villa Leppäniemi in Ruissalo, an architectural gem built in the 1870s, hides stories of times gone by. The villa’s large windows let in natural light, and the surrounding oak forest brings a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere to a musical moment. Old log walls and decorative details tell stories from one century to the next, and the music blends into the space as if it has always belonged there.
This year’s concert features Philip Zuckerman, Concertmaster of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, and Tatu Kauppinen, winner of the Turku Cello Competition 2022. Together, their masterful interpretations create a stirring musical journey where time stops for a moment. Zuckerman and Kauppinen’s playing combines the timeless beauty of an old lace villa with the enchanting power of music.
The beautifully restored OP Turku Region’s villa opens its doors again for the Turku Music Festival!
