The quiet beauty of the Resurrection Chapel, Erik Bryggman’s masterful architecture and the sensitivity of young musicians come together in an evening where architecture and music engage in dialogue. This concert, organised in collaboration between the Turku Music Festival and the Bryggman Foundation, opens the door to the artistic world of the Bryggmans and its reflections in today’s creative work.
The evening begins at 5.30 pm, when Mikko Laaksonen introduces the audience to the history of the chapel building. After the guided tour, architect Marko Kivistö will take a moment to reflect on the connections between architecture and music.
The concert will feature interpretations by talented young artists from the Turku Conservatory, transporting the listener from the music of Mendelssohn and Beethoven to the landscapes of Sibelius and Rautavaara. The artists performing in the concert are Väinö Viljanen on piano, Aura Mäkinen on violin and Kauri Halonen on cello.
The music fills the space with life, and the Bryggman legacy lives on in a moment where light, sound and architecture merge into a single entity.
