ADVANCE INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE AURAJOKI SOI EVENT IN THE LIBRARY BRIDGE AREA ON 13 AUGUST

On Thursday, 13 August, during Turku Night of the Arts, the River Aura will be transformed into a large open-air concert venue as the Turku Music Festival presents the new free public event Aurajoki soi at the Library Bridge and along the banks of the river.
Aurajoki soi takes place on Thursday, 13 August, from approximately 7:00 pm to 11:15 pm. The main concert begins at 7:00 pm on the Library Bridge and features performances by the participating choirs as well as community singing. The main concert includes performances by Ylioppilaskunnan Laulajat, Laulun Ystävät, Auralia, Chorus Iucundus, and Åbo Damkör.
From 8:00 pm onwards, the programme continues with atmospheric performances by local choirs on the Library Bridge. As darkness falls, the River Aura and the Library Bridge will be illuminated as part of the event, and the choral performances will continue in restaurants across the city centre as part of the Aurajoella raikaa programme.
The atmosphere of Night of the Arts begins already in the afternoon, when the choirs hold open rehearsals at the TMJ Music Oasis on the Market Square from 5:00 pm onwards.
INFORMATION FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS
The event uses a sound system to amplify the choir performances. The Library Bridge will be closed to pedestrians during the main concert from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, and programme activities in the area will continue until approximately 11:15 pm.
The event may result in higher-than-usual noise levels and increased pedestrian traffic around the Library Bridge and the banks of the River Aura. Turku Music Festival will make every effort to ensure that the event runs smoothly while taking local residents into consideration.
