Welcome to a unique arts event where visual and aural art blend in an unprecedented way! The Turku Music Festival brings CALLA and KALLARY together for an unforgettable evening celebrating Finnish art and design along with modern a cappella music.
CALLA is a novel virtuoso pop music women’s vocal ensemble from Helsinki. Founded in 2023, it is a group of professional musicians dedicated to carving a niche for a cappella in the field of popular music through artistry and a unique sound. CALLA focus on modern repertoire and social media content in particular, with a view to attracting younger audiences to the a cappella genre.
KALLARY was born out of the life’s work of visual artist Johanna Oras, specifically her love for sculptural flowers, particularly the calla lily (Zantedeschia). More than a decade of artistic research has resulted in a unique textile pattern inspired by the calla, now seen on the handmade premium accessories by KALLARY. These products bring together colours, happiness, memories, culture, community and humanity.
During the evening, you are immersed in the aesthetic world of KALLARY and enjoy the harmonies of CALLA. The event uniquely blends art to be seen and art to be heard in a unified artistic experience. Come and be inspired by the union of aesthetics and harmony at the Art House Turku!
