Marjaana Merikanto is an active performing pianist whose passion is to work as versatile as possible as a soloist, chamber musician, teacher and songwriter. She graduated in 2011 with a Master of Music degree from the Soloist Department of the Sibelius Academy of Music under Erik T. Tawaststjerna and Valeria Resjan, completing the Diploma in Piano Performance (A-course) with the highest possible grades. She also studied at the Universität Mozarteum under Alexei Ljubimov. Merikanto performs actively as a soloist, lied and chamber musician at home and abroad. Merikanto works as a piano teacher, lied teacher and accompanist at the Vantaa Music Academy, Lahti Conservatory and Sibelius Academy at the University of the Arts.
