Johanna Suvenmetsä is a versatile flautist, poet, reciter and artist. She graduated with a Master of Music degree from the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki in 2015, where she studied with Petri Alanko. For more than a decade, Suvenmetsä has regularly conceived and organised concerts combining classical music, poetry, spoken word and improvisation. She has performed solo concerts combining poetry and music both in Finland and abroad, including in Germany and Italy.
Suvenmetsä has extensive experience of working with Finland’s professional orchestras, as well as of the artistic planning of concerts, poetry events and festivals, and collaborating with artists from different fields. She is also an active chamber musician and regularly commissions and premieres contemporary music.
Johanna Suvenmetsä’s publications include two poetry collections and two albums. Her latest album, Mindscapes, was released by the Pilfink label in November 2025.
