CLAIRE MONCHARMONT

Claire Moncharmont is a French harpist freelancing around Sweden, Danemark, France and Norway. She plays on a regular basis with the National Swedish Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra among others. In 2023 she has had the chance to perform with the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique and Sir John Eliot Gardiner during a tour in Europe (Berlin Phil, Salzburg Festpiele, Versailles Opera, BBC Proms, Berlioz Festival).

In 2012 she graduated from her diplom of musical studies in harp and chamber music in the Versailles conservatory in France under Francoise de Maubus, and that same year she obtained her «Licence de Musique et Musicologie» at the Université Paris­Sorbonne. In 2017 she graduated with a bachelors degree at the Centro Superior de Musica del Pais Vasco in San Sebastian in Spain under Christine Icart in the speciality of harp performance and chamber music. In 2019 she graduated with a master’s degree in solo harp performance at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo under Isabelle Perrin. In 2021 she graduated  with a master’s degree in orchestra performance at the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg under Erik Groenestein-Hendricks. As a winner of several auditions she has had the opportunity to perform as a soloist with Orchestra, and give harp recitals.

Claire gives concerts with a rich and varied repertoire as a soloist and in chamber music. She is a member of the Hehku Ensemble, and she has a duo with trumpet. Very versatile, she likes to explore all the repertoire from baroque music to new written pieces to show the unlimited possibilities of her instrument.
