Artturi Aalto started studying cello in 2006 at the Espoo Music Institute as a student of Jan Cibulka, after which he was a stundent of Tuija Vainio. Since 2013 he has studied at the Sibelius Academy under Timo Hanhinen, and started his studies with Professor Marko Ylönen in Autumn 2018. During his last years at the Sibelius Academy he studied with Ola Karlsson and Andreas Brantelid and is currently studying at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Torleif Thedeen. Aalto has participated in many master classes with teachers such as Ivan Monighetti, Vladimir Perlin, Arto Noras, Jian Wang, and Frans Helmerson.
Artturi Aalto has performed as soloist with the Tapiola Youth Symphony Orchestra under Jan Söderblom and Erkki Lasonpalo, as soloist with the Tapiola Sinfonietta under Pekka Kuusisto, as soloist with the Turku Symphony Orchestra and the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra under Klaus Mäkelä and Anna-Maria Helsinki, and as soloist with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra (FRSO) under Hannu Linnu. Aalto is one of the artistic directors of the Radalla Festival. In 2013 he was awarded 3rd prize at the Tallinn Young Musician Contest, reached the final of the Janne Soloist Competition in 2015 and was awarded 2nd prize at the Turku Cello Competition in 2022.
