What if a lied concert were more than just a concert; what if it were a 24-hour journey in which music and nature walk side by side, telling the same story?

Back to the Nature is an experience where we pause to contemplate natural phenomena and mythical imagery: a sunset by the sea, the starry night sky, the quiet light of the moon, and the forest awakening in the morning. Schubert’s songs open up a world where the sky, fire, clouds, and darkness are not merely scenery, but reflect the human inner experience.

The program consists of four short concerts and the transitions between them, forming a cohesive, airy arc. Finnish tones rise alongside Schubert’s: solo songs by Sibelius, Kilpinen, and Saariaho engage in a dialogue with his music, deepening themes of nature, timelessness, and humanity.

The result is a concert experience that not only unfolds but also carries the listener along.

This concert is included in the ticket price when you purchase a ticket for the Wanderer or Homeland concerts at the Sibelius Museum.
