On 1 September 2004, singer-songwriter Samuli Putro released his first solo single, titled Täysikasvuinen [Grown-up]. It had been commissioned for Aleksi Salmenperä’s film Lapsia ja aikuisia [Children and adults].
“This does not mean that the soloist of Zen Café is embarking on a solo career; the band are back in the studio and will be releasing new material in the autumn,” the Kaleva newspaper wrote at the time.
But he did embark on a solo career, and now he is celebrating his 20th anniversary as a solo artist with a selected few appearances in 2024. He appears at Teatro at Logomo with a unique string ensemble.
His 10 + 10 = 20 tour, beginning in the spring, includes ten club gigs and ten festival performances, featuring a cross-section of his entire career from early ventures to recent hits.
