World-famous violin virtuoso Anne-Sophie Mutter comes to Finland!

Appearing at the Turku Music Festival with her chamber orchestra Mutter Virtuosi, she presents a programme that includes J.S. Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor and Brandenburg Concerto no. 3 in G major along with one of the finest gems of the Baroque repertoire, Francesco Maria Veracini’s Violin Concerto in D major. Having given the world premieres of more than 30 works, Mutter will also be giving the Finnish premiere of the Nonet (2014) written by her late husband, conductor and composer André Previn. The programme finishes with the Violin Concerto in A major of Joseph Bologne Chevalier de Saint-George, who was born to a Senegalese slave in the Caribbean but rose to a high social status thanks to his musical talent.
