Last year, for the first time, the Turku Music Festival brought music to the bright and beautiful home of Aino and Jarkko Ruohola. The concert was an all-round success, so the Turku Music Festival will bring music to the Ruoholas’ home again in 2023!
The Seele String Quartet was founded in 2015 on the initiative of young musicians. The quartet, which started its journey at the Sibelius Academy’s youth training, quickly proved to be promising, and after only six months won first prize at the national Erkki Melartin Chamber Music Competition.
Today, all members of the Seele Quartet are accomplished artists. Violinists Rebecca Roozeman and Amanda Ernesaks study in Munich under Prof. Mi-Kyung Lee. Viola player Kristian Sallinen is also known as a conductor, and in 2022 he has conducted the Lahti Symphony Orchestra and the Helsinki City Orchestra, among others. Cellist Tatu Kauppinen is a member of the Karajan Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and is also pursuing his Master’s degree under Prof. Natalie Clein. All players have achieved success in national and international competitions on their respective instruments.
