TUULI TAKALA

Soprano Tuuli Takala is one of Finland’s most sought-after opera singers, both at home and abroad. She is known for her lovely, flexible voice and for her fascinatingly soulful performances. She has been engaged as a soloist at the Dresden State Opera in Germany since 2015 but regularly makes guest appearances at other prominent venues worldwide.

Having won the Timo Mustakallio singing competition and the Kangasniemi singing competition in Finland in summer 2013, Takala has performed at the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden in London, at the Deutsche Oper and Komische Oper in Berlin, at the Berlin and Hamburg State Operas, at the Volksoper in Vienna, at the Bayreuth Festival, at the Metz and Toulon Operas in France, at the Savonlinna Opera Festival and at the Tampere Opera. Her principal roles, apart from the Queen of the Night (début at the Finnish National Opera 2013), include Pamina (The Magic Flute), Violetta (La traviata), Gilda (Rigoletto), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Donna Anna and Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Micaëla (Carmen) and the Comtesse Folleville (Un viaggio a Reims).
