We have come to expect expression, swing and virtuoso technique from the performances of guitarist Teemu Viinikainen, but first and foremost his music-making demonstrates a strong sense of presence and sensitivity. These qualities and his unique ability to inspire a wide variety of ensembles to fulfil their musical potential have made him Finland’s most sought-after jazz guitarist. Viinikainen graduated from the Department of Jazz at the Sibelius Academy with a Master of Music degree and has been a teacher there since 2002.
