Oskari Pirttimaa is an Espoo-based cellist and cello teacher, currently based in Malmö, Sweden. His teachers have been Andreas Brantelid at the Malmö Music Academy and Erkki Lahesmaa at the Turku UAS Academy of Arts. Other important teachers for Oskar have been Jukka Rautasalo and Tuija Vainio. He has furthered his studies with Jakob Koranyi, Marko Ylönen, Tuomas Lehto and Eric-Maria Couturier, among others.
Oskari is an orchestral musician at heart. He performs regularly with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra and the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. In addition to his orchestral work, Oskari greatly enjoys performing chamber music with his friends. He has performed at the Nauvo Chamber Music Festival, the Volter Kilpi Kustavissa Literature Festival and elsewhere in Finland, Sweden and Europe. In his spare time, Oskari is a passionate cook.
