CHEN REISS

Israeli soprano Chen Reiss has been praised for her silvery bright voice (Bachtrack) and described as one of the most perfect Strauss voices (Classical Source), and as such she has appeared in several significant roles at the Vienna State Opera (Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Ginevra in Ariodante, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, etc.), Covent Garden, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Teatro alla Scala, the Bavarian State Opera, the Semperoper in Dresden and the Deutsche Oper in Berlin.

Reiss also appears regularly as a concert soloist, performing a remarkably broad repertoire. She has sung in Mahler’s Symphonies nos. 2 and 4 with the Munich Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel, with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta and with the Concertgebouw Orchestra under Daniele Gatti. She appears regularly at the BBC Proms and at the Salzburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Rheingau and Luzern festivals. In 2014, she sang in the Christmas Mass officiated by Pope Francis and televised around the world.
