BRAVADE

Bravade are an active and energetic recorder quartet with a special interest in Renaissance recorders. The group was established in 2004 by musicians who have studied early music at the Sibelius Academy and Stadia in Helsinki, at music academies in the Netherlands and Germany and at several masterclasses. As an ensemble, Bravade have studied with Han Tol, a founding member of the world-famous Flanders Recorder Quartet, and with Professor Peter Holtslag of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.

Bravade have given concerts around Europe with a repertoire ranging from the Middle Ages to the present day, including impressive cross-discipline productions and popular children’s concerts. Bravade frequently collaborate with other musicians (such as singers Tuuli Lindeberg, Pasi Hyökki and Teppo Lampela and the Finnish Baroque Orchestra), other artists (such as dancers Elina Häyrynen and Jukka Tarvainen) and contemporary composers (such as Olli Virtaperko, Sebastian Fagerlund and Antti Auvinen). Bravade released their début album, Reflections of the Past and Present (Pilfink Records) in February 2014.
